Highschool-Colt
Every now and then a track comes along that feels like it’s from another time, yet somehow still hits perfectly in the now. Colt by HighSchool is exactly that kind of track for me.
I stumbled on this one during a bit of a late-night rabbit hole on YouTube
Melbourne-based HighSchool already had that dark, new wave vibe going on, but this track brings something a little different. It’s got a Western twang, almost cinematic in feel, yet there’s this underlying Italo-disco pulse running through it. One of those tracks that feels like it belongs on both a late-night drive playlist and a low-lit dancefloor.
The video was shot in Rome and kind of mirrors that wandering, bittersweet energy—perfectly capturing that feeling of being somewhere new, excited but weirdly fragile at the same time. It’s well worth a watch if you’re into that cinematic, lo-fi travel journal style of visuals.
